March 6, 2020 – Congressman Rodney Davis (R-IL) held a Coronavirus listening session to discuss the local response and federal funding to combat the growing risk. The listening session was held on the Crossing Healthcare campus and included local health officials, medical providers, representatives of long term care facilities and local university officials. The goal of the listening session was to ensure up to date communication between the Center for Disease Control and those that are on the front line of the outbreak. The listening session comes on the heels of an $8.3 billion emergency federal funding bill that was signed by President Trump today. As of March 6th, there have been 5 reported cases of the Coronavirus in the State of Illinois.
“The good news is that everyone is talking, everyone is communicating,” said Congressman Davis. “The goal today was to make sure I knew first hand that our local professionals were [sic] getting the same information I was being told they should be getting.”
