March 13, 2020 – The St. Patrick’s Day parade in Downtown Decatur planned for Saturday has been cancelled per the request of the Governor of Illinois. Surrounding communities such as Champaign, Springfield and Urbana have also cancelled parades and festivities. Governor Pritzker said the state is mandating all large scale events exceeding 1,000 people be cancelled for the next 30 days. The state is encouraging all events including 250 people or more to consider cancelling or postponing.
