April 19, 2020 -City of Decatur Buses will now require riders to wear a mask.
Buses have continued to operate on Decatur routes for people who see the buses as a lifeline for getting to jobs, medical appointments or to simply get around the city.
As of tomorrow, Monday, April 20, 2020, the City of Decatur is requiring individuals to wear face coverings or masks on public transit.
Decatur City Manager, Scot Wrighton, says wearing masks will protect both transit drivers and the traveling public. Homemade face coverings, homemade masks, paper masks, scarves, etc. can be worn to cover the face.
There are signs posted on the buses. Riders have also been asked to enter the rear doors of the bus as an additional precautionary measure.
