April 19, 2020- Kroger has started a COVID-19 response fund to help families in need.
Kroger established the fund to address the urgent and increasing needs arising from the current health crisis. Donations will be collected by the Zero Hunger | Zero Waste Foundation, Kroger’s new public charity.
Donating is contact-free. Customers can “round up” their bill, going to the nearest dollar. For example, a purchase of $12.50 can be rounded up to $13.00. Customers may also donate $1.00, $5.00 or $10.00 at checklanes. Cashiers have special scan codes to add those donations to the purchase.
The money raised will help local food banks.
