May 7th, 2020- Starting now and running through Memorial Day weekend, the Decatur Police Department is stepping up enforcement to remind motorists to “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over.”
“Our officers see firsthand the tragedies that occur when people drive impaired,” said Sgt. Steve Hagemeyer.
“To put it simply, don’t drink and drive. Please help us spread this life-saving message by encouraging your friends and family to drive sober”. The Decatur Police Department will be taking a zero-tolerance approach.
Whether day or night, impaired drivers will be arrested. The “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” campaign is administered by the Illinois Department of Transportation with federal highway safety funds.
