May 20th, 2020- The Decatur Municipal Band has announced it’s live concerts for June and July 2020 are canceled. The band, which is in its 163rd season, said it gratefully acknowledges the support of the Decatur community and looks forward in hope to the possibility of resuming its live Monday night Central Park concerts in August.
In the meantime, the Decatur Muni will offer free previously recorded broadcasts of its fall concerts from the past via Facebook Live. Beginning June 1st and continuing each Monday evening through July, you can go to Facebook.com/DecaturMuni at 7 p.m. to enjoy a stellar band performance along with outstanding guest vocalists and instrumental soloists. Master of Ceremonies Jayson Albright and Music Director/Conductor Jim Culbertson will host each broadcast providing commentary and conversations with special guests including band members, soloists, and vocalists.
