July 22, 2020 – The COVID pandemic has caused the cancellation of a number of beloved summer events, but thanks to planning and cooperation with the Macon County Health Department, the Warrensburg Corn Festival is able to keep a small bit of fun on the calendar with a cornhole tournament this weekend. The event will be held this Saturday from 11am to 7pm.
Though the Corn Festival has been postponed until 2021, organizers have put together a “Corn-Tine” safe event featuring grab and go and drive up food trucks, a socially distanced car cruise and a cornhole tournament.
Organizers say masks are encouraged and social distancing will be guided thanks to painted markings and paths, we well as numerous handwashing stations on site.
The Cornhole tournament itself has very specific guidelines set by the IDPH and Health Department, including masks, limited players within the play area, disinfecting of the play boards and temperature checks.
Guidelines as follows:
1. The Festival Committee and Capital City Cornhole have the right and responsibility to remove any participant not in compliance of safety measures and/or is deemed to place others at risk of health and safety due to COVID-19.

The individuals allowed in the area of play will consist of Capital City Cornhole employees and/ or participants in actual game play. The participants not in actual game play will not be allowed in the roped off area and must wait outside of roped area.
4. Each cornhole lane of play will be spaced at least 6 feet apart. The lane of play consists of two boards and 2 teams. Each team consists of 2 players for a total of 4 players at a lane.
5. Teams must stay within their lane of play unless walking to or leaving their designated lane of play.
6. The cornhole boards in the lane of play will be disinfected before and after each match.
