The Decatur Area Arts Council and Gallery 510 have announced that Arts in Central Park will be held virtually in September.
“We are saddened that we cannot have our regular, amazing, on-site event. COVID-19, and the ever-changing landscape it creates, has made it clear that we were not going to be able to provide our artists and attendees with the caliber of event that they have come to expect,” said Jerry Johnson, Executive Director of the Decatur Area Arts Council.
Virtual Arts in Central Park (VAICP) will be hosted through DecaturArts.org. The website will give artists a VAICP web page that will have samples of the artists’ work and links to their websites, social media and contact information. A number of artists will put on virtual demonstrations as well as studio visits.
Purchases will be made through the artists or their websites.
Virtual Arts in Central Park begins on Friday, September 18th as originally scheduled. The event will run through September 19th. Virtual materials will be available through mid-October.
