August 9, 2020 – While students are participating in virtual learning for the first quarter of the 2020-21 school year, Decatur Public Schools will deliver meals to the homes of students. A reminder that students must be registered in order to receive the free meal delivery service. Students need to be registered by tomorrow, Monday, August 10, 2020 in order to receive meals during the first week of virtual learning classes which start on August 17th. Parents or guardians who need to register a student returning to DPS need to go to Skyward Family Access and complete the registration information. Parents in need of assistance can go to www.dps61.org/registration for assistance. Parents of Kindergarteners and new students can call 217-362-3060 for assistance. Once a student is registered, they will begin receiving meal deliveries automatically.
If parents do not want meals delivered, they need to opt-out of the service by going to Skyward Family Access and completing an online form for each individual student. Students that are registered after Monday will still have the option of receiving meal delivery, but will not be eligible for the first week of school. If virtual learning is extended past the first quarter of the school year, meal delivery service will continue as long as there is virtual learning.
