August 24, 2020 – Petitions to run for one of 3 seats on the Decatur City Council will be available beginning tomorrow, Tuesday, August 25th.
Councilmen David Horn, Chuck Kuhle, and Pat McDaniel’s terms will expire in 2021. Horn has indicated he plans to run for re-election in 2021, however, McDaniel and Kuhle have not indicated if they will also seek another term.
Petitions will be available starting at 8 am at the City Clerks office at the Decatur Civic Center. Petitions can also be found online.
Candidates for City Council must be 18 years of age, reside in Decatur, be a registered voter, and obtain signatures of 85 registered Decatur voters. Nominating petitions can be filed starting 8 am Monday, November 16th until Monday, November 23rd at 5 pm.
