August 26, 2020 – The Macon County Conservation District will hold a public meeting regarding Sand Creek Conservation area trail users on Wednesday, September 9, from 6 to 7 p.m. at the maintenance shop at Sand Creek Conservation Area at 944 East Elwin Road, Decatur, IL 62521.
The informal meeting will review the layout of the trail system and talk about potentially rerouting segments of the trail in order to slow erosion and the need for trail repairs. It will also review how similar agencies deal with trail closures during times of heavy rain. The meeting is free and open to the public. There will be time made for questions and answers. Those who regularly use the trail are encouraged to take part in the meeting. Masks are required and social distancing will be observed.
