September 14, 2020 – Big Ten conference presidents and chancellors are expected to hold a vote on if they will play a shortened season. Back on August 11th, the Big Ten announced that all fall sports would be postponed. With rapid COVID tests now available, as well as players and fans criticizing the decision, the Big Ten has decided to reconsider their decision.
Heath and safety discussions were held over the weekend by leaders of the universities. If schools vote to play, Big Ten teams would only be able to play eight games each, where the other conferences will play at least 10 games. If the decision is made to play, teams will not begin playing before at least October 17th.
