October 15, 2020 – Decatur Rotary Club #180 has been honored with the Rotary Citation Award. Past District Governor Julie Dobski presented the 2019-20 Rotarian awards for Rotary District 6490. A total of 12 awards were handed out including Rotarian of the Year, New Rotarian of the Year, Hall of Honor, the Avenues of Service, and many others.
The Rotary Citation Award is given to clubs that meet certain goals to help strengthen the club determined by the District Governor. Goals include increasing club membership, giving to the Rotary Foundation, developing sustainable service projects, and building awareness of Rotary in the community.
Additionally, the district was recognized for raising over $300,000 for Polio Plus and other various Rotary programs. One of Rotary’s goals is to help eradicate polio.
