October 15, 2020 – Hickory Point Bank is hosting “Walk for Hunger” this weekend with some of the proceeds benefiting the WSOY Community Food Drive

The walk will take place at 1pm at Nelson Park, but participants can take part by choosing their own route.

Though the walk is taking place after the food drive, funds will still be added to the overall total.  The Food Drive this year raised over $600,000, which equals 3 Million pounds of food.

To participate:

  • Complete the sign-up form and select the WSOY Community Food Drive.
  • Meet Nelson Park, Devon Amphitheater parking lot for the walk!
  • Or choose your route. If you feel more comfortable walking individually, feel free to walk around the block, enjoy the parks and trails, or walk on your treadmill. Just walk when it fits your schedule. Donations will be collected through the end of October if you choose to donate.
  • Snap a picture when you finish. Take a selfie or a picture of the route and post it to your favorite social media platform. Be sure to tag Hickory Point Bank and include #HPBWalkforhunger in the post or email/text your photos to communications@hickorypointbank.com
  • Donate and mention HPB Walk for Hunger in the donation HERE

Hickory Point is holding a similar walk in other communities they serve, including Springfield, Champaign and Peoria to benefit the Central Illinois Food Bank, Midwest Food Bank and United Way of Champaign.
