Operation Enduring Support Preparing for 17th Christmas Mailing for Troops

October 20, 2020 – The military family faith-based support group Operation Enduring Support will be sending Christmas care packages to troops deployed overseas on December 7th.  This will be their 17th Christmas mailing.

Operation Enduring Support will need the APO/FPO addresses of troops and community donations by Thursday, November 19.

Submit AFO/FPO addresses to Ann Irwin at a.irwin@att.net or call (217) 428-5936, or Nicole Whitaker at Nicole@decaturgrace.org or call (217) 429-5374.  Packages may also be mailed to OES c/o Grace United Methodist Church, 901 N Main St., Decatur, IL 62521.

Donations for postage ($19.65 per box) and items to fill the boxes are also appreciated.  They may be mailed or brought to the church from 8 am to 4 pm Monday thru Thursday.

Suggested donations include Beanie Babies, protein bars, energy bars, granola bars, cheese, and cracker packs, beef Slim Jim’s and cheese sticks, canned meat and sandwich spread, individual powdered drink packages, hot chocolate packages, men’s magazines, puzzle/game books, playing cards, Gorilla Tape, Gold Bond Body Powder, personal care items, deodorant, toothbrushes, eye drops, and lip balm.  Also needed are letters from school and Sunday school children, Hard Candy, gum, socks, hanging car deodorizers, cotton swabs, baby wipes, and five-blade razors.
