REO Speedwagon formed in 1968 in Champaign, Illinois. Their original vocalist was future Starcastle frontman Terry Luttrell, who was replaced by Kevin Cronin in 1972.

The group was named after a 1911 model fire truck.

Cronin left the band briefly in late 1972, returning to the fold in 1975.

Driven by a rolling piano rhythm and marked by Gary Richrath's guitar solos, “Roll With The Changes” was REO's biggest hit to that point, peaking at Number 58 on the Billboard Hot 100.

The amusingly titled You Can Tune A Piano, But You Can't Tuna Fish was the first REO album to hit the Top 30, peaking at Number 29 on the Billboard 200 and spending nearly a year on the chart.

The album also sold well over two million copies.

The follow-up to “Roll With The Changes” was the power ballad “Time For Me To Fly,” which peaked at Number 56 on the pop chart
