November 4, 2020 – The Black Chamber of Commerce of Illinois and TheIncSpot have announced the cancellation of the Sheriff Roger Walker Memorial due to the rising COVID-19 cases in Macon County. The decision was recommended by the office of Governor Pritzker and the celebration has been moved to February.
Roger Walker was the first African American Sheriff in Macon County and will be honored next year during Black History Month for his official unveiling and other commemorative events.
