According to VLAD TV, King Von was laid to rest on Saturday (November 14th) in a private ceremony with his closest family and friends. The Chicago rapper was shot and killed last week following a physical altercation with rapper Quando Rondo and his crew.
Meanwhile, according to TMZ, sources close to Quando Rondo said that he was not seeking a fight the night of the shooting outside of an Atlanta hookah lounge and claimed that Von was the aggressor prior to the shooting.
The source added that Quando was asleep in a car outside of the club and awoke to find Von's crew there before things escalated. Von was upset and allegedly approached Quando and his crew and the source says that this is what led to the fight.
Surveillance cameras from outside of the club appears to show Von throwing punches at Quando's crew. Quando's crew say that they were acting in self defence and that Quando had no clue what was happening and feared for his life.
During the altercation, cops opened fire on the gunmen, but the police say King Von was shot during the initial shootout with Quando Rondo’s crew.
Timothy Leeks — who is a member of Quando Rondo's crew, was arrested in the death of Von. He is now facing a charge of felony murder.
Quando Rondo is not currently under invetigation and cops consider the case closed. The source added that Quando “feels extremely bad” about Von's death.
King Von, born Dayvon Daquan Bennett was 26. He leaves behind three children.
