November 16, 2020 – The Illinois Department of Public Health has asked people to stay home and avoid group gatherings, and travel as much as possible.  In order to exercise caution to help control the spread of COVID-19 the Macon County Conservation District is closing Rock Springs Nature Center temporarily from Saturday, November 14 through Friday, December 4.  All public programs and events will be suspended through December 4 as well.

Rock Springs Conservation Area, Friend Creek Conservation Area, Fort Daniel Conservation Area, and Griswold Conservation Area will remain open for hiking, walking, and exploration.  The Macon County Conservation District asks visitors of those areas to continue to practice social distancing.

Pets are welcome to explore trails but must be leashed at all times.  Outdoor restrooms will remain open.
