Tracy Lawrence’s Turkey Fry & Concert

By Syndicated Content Nov 24, 2020 | 6:42 AM

Tracy Lawrence refused to let COVID-19 put a stop to his Turkey Fry and Benefit Concert, which happens today. Proceeds benefit the Nashville Rescue Mission. He tells Everything Nash about a big reason the cause is so important to him:

“I have personal experiences with family members that were homeless, and they still struggle with it. I don’t understand it, to tell you the truth but I’ve learned to put my own prejudices aside, and just do what I feel like God’s calling me to. They’ve been in every rehab program, but until they make their mind up that they’re tired of living the way that they’re living, there’s not a whole lot you can do.”

He adds that it takes a network of people to put on the event AND to carry on with the mission. Quote, “All you can do is put warm food in their belly and a roof over their head. Give them a place to sleep when it’s cold and the basic necessities of life.”

The virtual concert is free, and it features Tim McGraw, Chris Young, Cole Swindell, Mitchell Tenpenny, John Rich, and David Tolliver. Check it out at TurkeyFry.org.
