December 14, 2020 – The Village of Forsyth is working with local restaurants to provide help during the COVID-19 pandemic. The village contacted all 15 restaurants in Forsyth and seven of them plan to participate in a voucher program.
Each restaurant that agreed to participate has received a check for $2,050, which will be turned into 205 $10 vouchers that will be mailed to Forsyth residents. Forsyth residential addresses with water services were identified as recipients of the vouchers.
The voucher is good for $10 off your bill at that restaurant and does not include alcohol or tip. Due to mitigations from the ongoing pandemic, only curbside service is available, but the vouchers are good through June of 2021 if Forsyth residents would like to wait for indoor seating.
The vouchers and letters were randomized, so each household will receive a different voucher. Only the accompanying letter identifies a specific household, so residents will be free to trade or donate their vouchers.
“Residents are welcome to trade it with one of their neighbors if they want to, or they’re welcome to give it or donate it to someone else. If they absolutely can’t use it, if they let us know, we will make arrangements to get it back to the village hall and we will make a donation locally if they absolutely can’t use it and don’t want to trade it or give it to someone else themselves,” said Dave Wendt, Village of Forsyth Trustee.
The seven participating restaurants are Panda Express, Burrito Express, Buffalo Wild Wings, Maharani Indian Kitchen, Penn Station, Texas Roadhouse, and McDonald’s.
If Forsyth residents have questions about the vouchers, visit or call the Forsyth Village Hall at (217) 877-9445.
