December 17, 2020 – Today at the Webster Cantrell Youth Advocacy building, troopers from the Illinois State Police donated gifts to children as part of the “Adopt a Snowflake” Program. The ISP donated gifts for 27 children in Webster Cantrell Youth Advocacy’s foster care and intact family services programs through their agency. The toys donated range from bikes, Paw Patrol items, and superhero toys.

The gifts will go out to children on Christmas and for Webster Cantrell Youth Advocacy Director of Marketing and Giving Holly Newbon, it’s a culmination of the Christmas spirit. “These are children that would wake up Christmas morning and probably not have anything under the tree, so, for them to come and not only buy one or two gifts for each child, but they came and they had squad cars full of gifts,” said Newbon.

Webster Cantrell Youth Advocacy is also providing food baskets, car seats, and beds for families in the community.

In a year complicated by the pandemic, Newbon said that the community has stepped up throughout the year to help their Youth Advocacy programs. “We just appreciate everything that the community does throughout the year, not just this time of year, but just throughout the year to assist us. They truly are amazing and we couldn’t do it without them.”
