Health Department to Hold Drive Through Vaccinations For Healthcare Workers

December 29, 2020 – The Macon County Health Department will be holding a Drive-Through COVID-19 Vaccination Clinic for healthcare workers on December 30, 2020, from 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on the Decatur Airport Property.

The COVID-19 Vaccination Clinic is for healthcare workers ONLY and will be given on a first-come, first-served basis.

Examples of healthcare workers qualified to receive the vaccine at this time include, but are not limited to: physicians, nurses, respiratory technicians, dentists and hygienists, nursing assistants, assisted living facility staff, long-term care facility staff, group home staff, home caregivers, and Emergency Medical Services (EMS).

Those who plan to attend should:

• Take Ocean Trail to Air Park Lane and follow the signs

• Bring a work ID badge

• Bring a copy of your insurance card; If you are unable to make a copy, please bring the original

• Wear a short sleeve shirt and face-covering

• Complete vaccine forms, print, and bring them to the clinic to save time.

The vaccine forms can be found by visiting maconcountyhealth.org. If you are unable to complete and print the forms, they will also be available onsite. The MCHD has and will continue to follow the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) guidelines and Illinois Department of Public Health guidance when deciding who will receive the COVID-19 vaccine.

At this time, those who are not healthcare workers will be turned away. Those who have had COVID-19 within the past 90 days should wait until after their 90-day window to receive the vaccine. The MCHD will continue to update the public when additional vaccines arrive and more clinics are scheduled.
