January 12, 2021 – High school students are invited to participate in a fun-filled two hours of empowerment by signing up for “Rise Up & Unify,” a free youth leadership conference. The conference, held through Zoom on Saturday, February 6, from 10 a.m. to noon, is hosted by Young Leaders in Action (YLIA) in conjunction with Rotary District 6490. Participants are eligible to win individual prizes from a total of $1,000 in e-gift cards awarded during the event. Online registration is required by the day of the event.

The conference will focus on two 30-minute breakout sessions. The first session offers various educational options from which to choose, including:

• Financing Your College Education

• Unifying through Cultural Student Exchange Programs

• Rise Up Global

• Level Up on Inclusion & Self-Care

• Collegiate Success Panel – Tips & Advice to Help You Soar after Graduation

During the educational sessions, several youth speakers will detail their personal experiences while also sharing how to integrate experience with leadership skills to make a positive community impact.

“We are definitely going to be experiencing positive impact on different parts of our society as a result of this conference,” said Courtney Evans, YLIA conference team chair. “Since we also have international groups attending, it will be interesting to see our conference’s impact on those who reside in different countries.”

The second breakout sessions focus on empowerment and networking activities, including Kahoot and Among Us learning games, virtual service opportunities, bingo, and a live music/dance contest opportunity.

A detailed conference agenda is available on YLIA’s Facebook and Instagram pages.
