Hi, my name is Hardik Shah. I am from India and I moved to Decatur in April 2011. Since then, the Decatur community has given us support & help. I feel Decatur is the city of opportunities.. since now I always support the community as much as I can but now I have the opportunity to serve the community .. whatever happens in election still I do what I do for the community in future..
What do you believe is the role of a Decatur City Council member? :
Mainly listen & support community, keep everything transparent.. upgrade & changes as needed.
Please tell us your platform and key areas of focus for the Decatur City Council:
(1) I want to work for small businesses as we all know 2020 is tough for everyone. So maybe if we do something so 2021 will better for small businesses. Open easy doors for more new businesses.
(2) I want to work on making an easy pathway between the community and government agencies.
(3) I want to work on needy persons who real needy . want to do something for them so they get free or affordable housing, food & job.
(4) I want to do something on nightlife & entertainments because people from Decatur go out for fun so we can do something here so that money stays in Decatur. Even I ask opinion & suggestions from the Decatur community what they want for fun.
(5) I want to work on schooling so more families send their kids to our schools. .. 6. Transparency.. 7. Become a voice for the community.
