Macon County Health Department release statement on vaccine delays

By Michelle Mitchell Feb 19, 2021 | 4:28 PM

February 19, 2021 – Due to severe inclement winter weather, the Macon County Health Department has seen a delay in the shipment of vaccines all week that will continue into next week.

As soon as the MCHD receives confirmation of shipment, they will contact those who are due for their second dose next week who have not been able to make an appointment. This will include those who received their first dose on January 26th and January 28th. The Macon County Health Department does not have control over these shipments.

Due to the significant decrease in Macon County’s COVID-19 vaccine allocation and weather delays, they have not had vaccine available for first doses this week and will not have any first dose clinics next week. They are encouraging those needing a second dose appointment to continue to check their website and Facebook page for the most up-to-date information.

A person may also call their vaccination line at (217) 718-6205 Monday through Friday from 9 am to 3 pm.
