Two travelers from Louisiana heading to Hawaii attempted to enter the state without a negative COVID-19 test. They arrived last Friday at Honolulu’s airport and attempted to bypass the state’s mandatory quarantine rules.
A 29-year-old man and 28-year-old woman showed up with those COVID-19 test, which meant they’d have to quarantine for 10 days. That’s when they allegedly tried to bribe the airport screeners. First the guy told the person he’d give them $2,000 to him slide by. Then the women offered an additional $1,000 so she could get through.
The screener didn’t take the bribe and alerted authorities who arrest the duo for bribery. They were booked and sent back to Louisiana.
