Macon County Conservation District offering Night Hikes at Griswold Conservation Area

March 1, 2021 – The Macon County Conservation district invites you to venture into the darkness during one of two Night Hikes at Griswold Conservation Area this spring. Visitors can choose between Saturday, March 13, and Saturday, May 22 from 8pm-9:30pm.

During this naturalist-led hike, you’ll use your senses to find your way through the woods. Discover what makes your eyes, ears, and nose work at night. Wear sturdy shoes and dress for the weather. The cost is 2 dollars per person. Face masks required. Visitors must pre-register online no later than noon on March 12 or May 21 at MaconCountyConservation.org.

Griswold Conservation Area is located in Blue Mound, IL, just 20 minutes south of Decatur. To get to Griswold Conservation Area from Decatur, go south on Route 48 for 12 miles, turn right onto Blue Mound Rd. and right onto Meridian Rd.
