March 17, 2021 – Animals who hibernate are beginning to wake up and prepare for warmer weather. Explore this category of wildlife during Hibernators of Macon County at Rock Springs Nature Center on Sunday, March 27 at 2 pm.
Learn which animals have been dormant this winter and why they go through this energy-saving process. Attendees will look at furs, skeletons, and meet a live animal. This program is free and for all ages. Face masks will be required. Must pre-register online by noon on Friday, March 26 at the Macon County Conservation website.
Rock Springs Nature Center is located on the southwestern edge of Decatur. To get to Rock Springs from Decatur, go south on Route 48 and turn west onto Rock Springs Road or go south on Wyckles Road and turn east onto Rock Springs Road and watch for signs.
