March 26, 2021 – Attorney General Kwame Raoul is reminding consumers that the moratorium on disconnecting utilities ends on April first.
Disconnections for those struggling to pay their utility bills were put on hold during the pandemic, but AG Raoul says that ends in just a few days. If you’re still having trouble keeping up with your payments, he recommends contacting your utility right away to work something out.
“It’s important for people to know that that option exists because they have to ask themselves and requesting assistance or requesting repayment from their utilities.” said Raoul.
Raoul recommends visiting his office’s website for additional guidance and options.
