April 12, 2021 – The Decatur Public School District 61 Board of Education will hold a Public Hearing on Tuesday, April 13, 2021, at 6:30 pm at Montessori Academy for Peace Auditorium.
The Decatur Board of Education desires to host a public hearing for the public and educational community as required regarding the intent to Modify School Code “105 ILCS 5/24-2-3.25g Holidays” in that Casimir Pulaski and Veterans Days be granted Commemorative Holiday status in allowing student attendance on those dates for the 2021-2022 school year.
This hearing will be held as per the Illinois School Code. Modification requests will be taken during the Open Session of the regular Board meeting on April 13, 2021, at 6:30 pm. Any interested person who desires to submit written comments, and/or speak on this subject with the Board of Education should contact Melissa Bradford in the Superintendent’s Office at 217 362-3011 and/or at mbradford@dps61.org prior to the April 13th public hearing.
