April 30, 2021 -Staff pharmacist Amada Ditty has been named the Decatur Memorial Hospital colleague of the Month for March.
“Amanda always puts safety first with our patients,” said Dawn Smith, a registered nurse and one of Ditty’s coworkers and nominator for the award. “She consistently verifies orders, cheks orders, and fields phone calls all evening as the only pharmacist in the hospital. She does all this and keeps the people around her in good spirits as well.”
Ditty joined Decatur Memorial Hospital in April 2006 and has been an important member of the Pharmacy going “above and beyond to answer any questions or concerns a nurse or doctor may have by walking them through any orders they may need,” said Lauren Conley, a pharmacy technician and another of Ditty’s nominators.
