May 11, 2021 – The Economic Development Corporation and Decatur Public Schools are partnering for a hiring event with local employers. The event will be at Decatur high schools to discuss employment opportunities with seniors.
The hiring event will take place outdoors on Friday, May 14, 2021, at both high schools. Local employers will host tables located on the track surrounding the football field. Times for the hiring event are set to take place after graduation practice.
“Connecting employers with a talent pool is an integral part of economic development,” says Nicole Bateman, president of the Economic Development Corporation of Decatur-Macon County. “Giving upcoming graduates exposure to job opportunities while it’s fresh on their minds is a moment we want to capture. We have over 1,600 available jobs in Macon County today, many of which our new graduates will qualify for. It’s imperative that we make the connection to secure bright futures for our young adults and employers alike.”
Eisenhower will have their hiring event from 12:15-1:15 pm. MacArthur’s will be from 10:45 am-12 noon.
