May 11, 2021 – Governor J.B. Pritzker says the state has now awarded one billion dollars for infrastructure projects through the Rebuild Illinois Program.
The program is the largest infrastructure investment in state history, with this funding addressing overdue transportation needs, the Governor says. “Already our Rebuild Illinois Plan has improved over 3,000 miles of highways, completed over 180 bridges, and launched hundreds more projects,” said Pritzker.
The Governor says Rebuild Illinois grants have gone to local work as well, including bike paths, storm sewers, and traffic signal upgrades. An additional 500 million dollars will be awarded under the program.
