May 12, 2021 – On Saturday, June 12th, S.I.M.P. Incorporated’s Illinois Restore, Reinvest, and Renew (R3) Grant recipients plan to offer a webinar discussion on the myths and challenges of doctorate programs to encourage minorities to consider attaining doctoral level degrees.
According to the U.S. Census, less than 2% of the world’s population has a doctorate degree. In 2019, the Council of Graduate Schools (CGS) reported that for the 11th year in a row, women earned a majority of doctoral degrees awarded at US universities. Yet, minorities made up only 7.1% of all doctorates earned by U.S. citizens or permanent residents in the United States.
This event will be held June 12th, 11:00-12:30 pm via Zoom.
The webinar is open to master’s degree graduate students, new doctoral students, undergraduates, and anyone interested in learning more about earning a doctorate degree.
