June 1, 2021 – The first annual Thinkwell Maker Camp, a collaboration between THINKWELL Makerspace Industries and Richland Community College, will be coming to sixth, seventh, and eighth-grade students in June. THINKWELL Maker Camp is a week-long (five-day) makerspace camp that highlights key elements of STEM education, local history, and technological advancement while exploring the power of a makerspace as a creative tool.

The camp navigates and explores a selection of emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence, 3D printing, virtual reality, drones, microcomputers, and more. Using these tools, campers will learn to respond to real-time futuristic experiences of problem-solving, communication, and community building. This focus is meant to frame technology as a source of great change, power, and responsibility, while also presenting the importance in understanding the significance of historical achievements in the progress of the future.

The camp will take place in the Richland Community College National Sequestration Building, with a dedicated week for each grade. Parents can visit www.richland.edu/thinkwell to find out more and to register their student.
