June 3, 2021 – Today was the ribbon-cutting ceremony for Baby TALK and Empowerment Opportunity Center at their new location at 355 East Marietta Street in Decatur.

Both organizations now have brand new facilities to better serve the Decatur community. “It wasn’t that long ago that this area, this neighborhood, looked incredibly different,” said Mayor Julie Moore Wolfe. “But now as you come over the bridge, we’ve got Crossing, we’ve got the treatment center and now we have these wonderful facilities. Decatur shines as an example of what a community can have to help its people and to help them in their later years, their early years, and their mid-years.”

The Baby TALK facility contains 40 early childhood classrooms which will accommodate 500 children ages six weeks to five years old when at capacity. The classroom design is based on best-practice and research in order for children to receive high-quality services. More than 9,000 individuals are planned to receive support and services annually from the new location.
