June 16, 2021 – Today, the Decatur Regional Chamber of Commerce hosted an AgCafe at the Beach House.

The AgCafe featured Natalya Bright and Chris Olsen of Tate & Lyle. The keynote speaker, Natalya Bright of the Tate & Lyle Global Market Research Team, spoke on the importance of companies focusing on consumer trends. The consumer trends she highlighted were: transparency and trust, plant-based health and sustainability, sugar reduction – while not losing the flavor from reduced sugar, fiber and gut health, convenience, and better snacking.

Fiber and gut health was the main topic of her discussion, and Bright highlighted a number of reasons why fiber and gut health are an important trend to follow.

“Gut health is extremely important to a lot of different areas of the body. Gut health can help support heart health, colon health, liver health, and then even some emerging science areas such as metabolic health, it can help improve mood, sleep, and then also immunity,”
