June 17, 2021 – South Side Country Club is partnering with Macon Resources, Inc. (MRI) to launch Macon Birdies Golf Camp at South Side Country Club this summer.
The camp will teach 60 adults with developmental disabilities basic golf skills, such as driving, chipping, and putting. South Side’s General Manager, Nick Taute, will lead the camp alongside Pro Shop staff, volunteers from the club, the Millikin University Golf Team, and MRI staff. This camp will give persons served the opportunity to learn and practice their golf skills while enjoying the benefits of fresh air and exercise.
“It’s important to South Side to be involved in the community, so we couldn’t be more excited to partner with MRI on this program,” said Nick Taute, General Manager at South Side Country Club. “One of my passions in this profession is to teach the game of golf to different ages and skill levels as it’s a game that can be enjoyed by people of all abilities.”
“We are thrilled to partner with South Side Country Club to teach those we serve the game of golf,” said Amy Bliefnick, President and CEO of MRI. “Our persons served love to be involved in the community and learning the basics of golf will help them grow mentally and physically while teaching them important life skills.”
The camp will be held in our different segments from 10 am to 11:30 am. Monday, June 21st | Monday, July 12th | Monday, August 16th | Monday, September 27th.
