July 20, 2021 – The community is encouraged to give feedback for prioritizing efforts for the next 10-year Master Planning process for the Decatur Park District by responding to the Master Plan Survey and/or participate in the Master Plan Open House on August 2, at Nelson Park Pavilion #1.
A sample of Decatur households will receive an invitation by mail. Most (about 8,000) receive a postcard with the survey website, plus an email and phone number to contact if they wish to complete the survey by phone or printed questionnaire.
In addition, about 2,000 households receive the printed questionnaire with a pre-paid return envelope, plus the cover letter including instructions to complete the survey online and a phone number to call for a phone interview. The first invitations started arriving at households and data collection is slated to continue until mid-August.
Those who receive a survey are asked to respond so that all neighborhoods are represented in the responses.
On Monday, August 2 from 5:30 – 7 pm the community is invited to join the Decatur Park District Master Plan Open House in Nelson Park Pavilion #1 (2475 Pavilion Drive) at any time during the session to hear progress on the planning process and to share ideas and suggestions with the Decatur Park District on current parks, facilities, and recreation programs. The Park District will also be sharing preliminary survey results and draft Action Items of highest priority for the Decatur Park District Parks & Recreation Master Plan update. No reservation necessary.
