August 9, 2021 – Girl Scouts of Central Illinois in partnership with Hickory Point Bank and Neuhoff Media will host the 8th annual Decatur Operation Cookie Share effort in Central Park on Thursday, August 12 from 6 am – 2 pm.
Throughout the day, local Girl Scouts will sell boxes of cookies to be set aside and donated to military troops serving both at home and overseas, frontline responders, and healthcare workers, providing a bit of comfort to those on the frontlines. As part of the event at noon, Girl Scouts and the community will honor recently retired Decatur Police Chief Jim Getz for his years of service.
As part of the event, Diggity Dawgs, Kansas City Pit BBQ, Smack ‘n Tacos & Mr. Softee food trucks will be on-site from 11:00 am – 2:00 pm and a portion of the proceeds will benefit Operation Cookie Share. Free membership activities for current and future Girl Scouts 10 am-2 pm, all in Central Park.
