August 9, 2021 – The Dwayne O. Andreas Ag Academy has been recognized as one of the top 10 FFA programs in the nation.

Student officers from MacArthur High School submitted an in-depth application for consideration by the National FFA Organization. These students described Academy activities planned, organized, and executed alongside Academy peers at Eisenhower High School. These include Supervised Ag Experiences (SAE) and Career Development Events (CDE), as well as a wide range of service projects, entrepreneurial ventures, student-leadership activities, and management of the Academy’s Living Science Farm.

Established in 2018, the Andreas Academy is the only FFA program in the state of Illinois competing in the Model of Excellence area. In just its third year of their program’s existence, the Academy’s MacArthur students will compete in Indianapolis, Indiana against the other nine chapters named as finalists. The winning chapter will be recognized at the 94th National FFA Convention and Expo in October 2021.
