August 12, 2021 – The Decatur Public Library has announced that jazz will once again be performed in the Madden Auditorium. The Daniel Bennett Group will play live and in-person on Tuesday, August 17, 2021, at 6:30 pm.
Led by multi-instrumentalist Daniel Bennett, the quartet is supporting its 2021 release New York Nerve on Manhattan Daylight Media Group. Hailed as one of the most original and unpredictable musical voices of his generation, Bennett has an impressive catalog and breadth of work – including New York City theatre productions like “Blank! The Musical” and performing regularly at such prestigious jazz venues as Blue Note (NYC), Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Club (London) and Herb Alpert’s Vibrato Club (LA).
According to Bennett, “Libraries have become cultural centers in America, and they represent the intersection of literature, art, music, and free-thinking!” Bennett also said the band is excited to share their music at the Decatur Public Library.
Join them Tuesday, August 17, 2021, at 6:30 pm in the Madden Auditorium at Decatur Public Library.
Bennett will have several other library shows before the end of the year – Vernon Hills, IL, Dekalb, IL, and Uniondale, NY. For more information about this one night only show at Decatur Public Library please see their website or contact Librarian Katie Eytchison at 217-424-2900 extension 6173.
