September 3, 2021 – The Decatur Area Arts Council is once again collaborating with Millikin University School of Music to present an exciting series of free mid-day musical mini-concerts at the Madden Arts Center in downtown Decatur.
The four Wednesday afternoon Mid-Day MUSIC events at the Madden Arts Center are offered as a preview of the full Faculty Recital Series concerts to be presented in Millikin’s Kaeuper Hall on the following Sunday.
Designed to be a mid-day lunch break (12:15-12:45 pm), the event is open free to the public. You’re invited to bring a brown bag lunch (or not). Relax and enjoy the music. Chat with the amazing musicians from the MU faculty.
The 2021-22 season will include:
- “I’m Glad I’m Not a Tenor” – Featuring Troy Castle (baritone) accompanied by Pei-I Wang on piano.
– DAAC – Wed., Sept 22, 2021 — Kaeuper Hall – Sun., Sept. 26, 2021 - “Bach and Friends” – Featuring violinist Ion-Alexandru Malaimare.
– DAAC – Wed., Oct. 27, 2021 — Kaeuper Hall – Sun., Oct. 31, 2021 - “Modern Perspectives in Post-Bop and Hard-Bop” – Featuring a jazz quintet comprised of Millikin Faculty led by David Moore.
– DAAC – Wed., Feb. 9, 2022 — Kaeuper Hall – Sun., Feb. 13, 2022 - “Marimba Spiritual” – Featuring percussionists Jeremy Brunk and Aaron Villareal.
– DAAC – Wed., March 30, 2022 — Kaeuper Hall – Sun., April 3, 2022
