September 21, 2021 – Celebrate fall with fun outdoor activities during the Fall Harvest Festival at Rock Springs Conservation Area on Saturday, October 16 from 1 pm to 4 pm.
Activities will include 3D archery, canoeing, pumpkin painting, and wagon rides. Homestead Prairie Farm, along with its’ woodworking shop and gardens will be open for free tours. There will also be a spinning demonstration at the Homestead, where you can observe how wool is made into yarn.
New this year, there will be a free scavenger hunt along the Discovery Trail. Both children and adults may look for riddles along the Discovery Trail to solve. Then hunt for the answers to the riddles. When finished, bring proof of completing the scavenger hunt back to the Nature Center. There, children may pick up a prize, and adults can enter a raffle for a $50 gift certificate sponsored by Decatur Magazine. One winner will be selected at random. This gift certificate may be used towards Conservation District activities in the coming year, including nights at Friends Creek Campground, canoeing, room or pavilion rentals, summer camps, Mini Camps, and any other regular programs.
3D archery, canoeing, and pumpkin painting are $3 each. All other activities are free. For all ages. No registration required.
