November 16, 2021 – Members of Young Leaders in Action (YLIA) are bringing Christmas joy to more than 300 Macon County CASA youth this year through a YLIA/CASA Christmas project.
YLIA is asking for community members to bring new, bagged gifts to those in need.
To sign up, follow this link and make a difference in a child’s life this holiday season. The project partnership between Macon County CASA and YLIA aims to bring gifts and necessities to children in the Macon County CASA program. Gifts pledged include stuffed toys, board games, clothing, gift cards, and necessities.
All information about the project is posted on the YLIA’s social media pages, along with updates. “This event will truly show the sense of community we have throughout our city and county,” said Symone Lee, the event’s chair. “I believe it will show the capability and productivity of our youth and the difference that we can make in other youths’ lives as well as the lives of adults.”
All pledged donors are asked to drop off their gifts at a drive-through event held Saturday, Dec. 4, from 12-4 pm at The ArtFarm in Central Park. All gifts will be taken to the CASA office for distribution by Christmas Day. All donors must know the child’s gift number to ensure that it is received. Young Leaders in Action (YLIA) is a youth-led initiative of Macon County high school students wanting to make a positive difference in their community. The group is sponsored by The Community Foundation of Macon County (CFMC) and Rotary Club No. 180 of Decatur.
