Decatur GivingTuesday returning November 30

November 17, 2021 – GivingTuesday will return on November 30th. Decatur community organizations will celebrate giving with a Generosity Party that brings local nonprofits together at one location, making it easy to find the causes you believe in.

GivingTuesday is Decatur’s version of the global day of giving that harnesses the collective power of individuals, communities, and organizations to encourage giving and to celebrate generosity worldwide. Every year on GivingTuesday, millions of people across the globe mobilize to show up, give back and change their communities.

The goal is to create a massive wave of generosity that lasts well beyond that day and touches every person on the planet. “Decatur makes it easy to give with a centralized Generosity Party that lets you explore the community’s many options for giving back and making our community better,” says Event Facilitator Jennifer Horton-Motter. “Each year, more and more charitable organizations join us at the event, now in its sixth year. So far, we’ve helped more than two dozen organizations raise more than $105,000 to date – and all funds go to help our community non-profits continue their good work.”

GivingTuesday will be held at First United Methodist Church, 201 W. North St. in Decatur, on November 30 from 11 am to 1 pm and 4 to 6 pm. Local health guidelines will be followed. Stop by to get to know Decatur’s non-profits, and network with your community.
