Bring on the pecan pies!! Thanksgiving means lots of pies are being made for the main meal and desert. Like with tomato, there’s two ways to say pecan. Either is right… maybe? Depends on the person you say in front we guess.
YouGov how most pronounce it and half say it’s Pee-KAHN (51%). About a third say PEE-CAN (37%) and a small group (8%) claim ‘other’. What exactly is ‘other’ for a pronunciation of pecan? We totally understand if there was an option for ‘both’ but ‘other?’ Hmm.
