December 4, 2021 – Members of Young Leaders in Action (YLIA) are bringing Christmas joy to more than 300 Macon County CASA youth today through a YLIA/CASA Christmas project.

YLIA is at the Art Farm in Downtown Decatur from 12-4 today asking for community members to bring new, bagged gifts to those in need. The project partnership between Macon County CASA and YLIA aims to bring gifts and necessities to children in the Macon County CASA program.

“Tonight as the parade is going on, we will be finishing up the collection of gifts but if people want to come down and enjoy the festivities and wave at our kids in their Santa hats and make this something that is so powerful for our community, they’re welcome to. This is wonderful and it’s really nice to watch our young leaders give back and impact our community,” said Temethia Joyner, YLIA Facilitator.

Gifts pledged include stuffed toys, board games, clothing, gift cards, and necessities.

All information about the project is posted on the YLIA’s social media pages, along with updates.

All donors must know the child’s gift number to ensure that it is received.
