January 3, 2022 – Each year, DECU employees nominate and vote for the Charity of the Year. The winning organization receives donations from various fundraisers, events, and employee activities, like jean days. They also encourage their employees to use their paid volunteer hours to assist that organization, and others, as well.
In 2021, they raised a numerous amount for The Good Samaritan Inn.
DECU has announced that Project Read Plus has been chosen as their 2022 Charity of the Year. Project Read Plus’s mission is to help adults improve their reading and math skills through individualized tutoring and giving them and their kids the opportunity to succeed in school and get a job.
